"The Godot devs are [out with a new release](https:\/\/godotengine.org\/article\/dev-snapshot-godot-4-4-dev-7\/) just in time for the holidays! \r\n\r\n## Highlights in 4.4 dev 7\r\nHighlights in this release of course includes everything in the previous development releases, as well as some awesome additions! Here are some highlights from the release announcements:\r\n\r\n* **Jolt Physics module:** What is considered by many as the \"de-facto\" physics engine in Godot, the Jolt physics addon, has been merged into godot!\r\n* **.NET 8.0:** C# users will definitely be happy to see that .NET 8.0 support is in, and the default for new projects\r\n* **Documentation tooltips:** A great addition for us documentation afficionados, documentation tooltips are now showing in the editor for \"*functions, variables, classes, etc. when you hover over them, including the documentation you have written using the documentation system*\" ![](\/files\/3c6ef8d6-3b07-44b7-bb70-9a46642008f5){.thumbnail} \r\n* **Baked shadowmasks for lightmaps:** Until now, you have always had to choose between fully baked or fully dynamic shadows when using LightmapGI. You can now enable shadow masks while baking your LightmapGI to combine dynamic and static shadows for the best quality.\r\n\r\nThere's a lot more in this dev release, so hop on over to the Godot website and check it out!"
